Maoris and Maori land — Maori Land Court has jurisdiction to vest Maori freehold or customary land or European land owned by Maoris in trustees, notwithstanding the objection of its owners, for the purpose of facilitating the use, management or alienation thereof — Maori Affairs Act 1953, s 438.
