Infants and children — Guardianship — Jurisdiction of Court — Child, who had been ill-treated by parents, was being cared for by an aunt — Following complaint proceedings under Children and Young Persons Act 1974, Director-General of Social Welfare was appointed child's guardian — Director-General decided that child should be fostered — Aunt applied under s 9 of the Guardianship Act 1968 for Court to assume guardianship and appoint her the Court's agent — Whether Court had jurisdiction to make the order sought.
