Practice and procedure — Maori Land Court — Duty of Registrar — Alienations of Maori freehold land which did not require confirmation by the Court were to be noted in the Court's records and a memorial endorsed on the instrument — Registrar refused to endorse a lease on the grounds that its terms contravened an order of the Court — Whether Registrar had a duty or discretion to refuse to endorse the lease — Maori Affairs Act 1953, s 233.
