Criminal law — Crimes affecting administration of justice — Perjury — Contradictory statements on oath — Must be more than one witness to speak to falsity of statement or proof of the falsity of one statement from other sources — Crimes Act 1961, s 112.
Evidence — Mode of proof — General — Evidence as to what a person said in another trial must be given by a person who heard it said; notes thereof may be used only as an aide memoire — Judicial notes of evidence taken at another trial cannot prove what a person said at that other trial — Notes of evidence taken by Judge's associate in the Supreme Court in another trial and adopted by such associate when giving evidence as to what was said at that trial is proof thereof.
