Criminal law — Search warrants — Legal professional privilege — Police obtained a search warrant, issued under s 198 of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957, to search a solicitor's premises for an appointment book — Solicitor's business cards had been found near a stolen car with dates and times written on them and police wished to find the name of the person or persons who had dropped the cards believing such persons might be connected with the taking of the vehicle — Solicitor refused to show police his appointment book and challenged warrant's validity — Whether warrant had been validly issued — Whether a warrant could be issued to search and seize documents covered by the privilege of confidentiality.
